Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

This represents his maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after spring of that year.

The win also means the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was finished.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an better service.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first professional championship, took control to create a final set.

He defended 4 initial chances in a close final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
