Iran is prepared to reinitiate atomic talks with Washington on condition that it is handled with "respect" and "honor", Iran's top diplomat has stated.

The Iranian diplomat said only diplomacy worked, and revealed new appeals had come from mediators to resume negotiations with the US government. He said Iran did not have secret atomic facilities, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to allow the UN nuclear inspectorate to visit struck enrichment centers for protective measures.

Navigating a Complex Course

The foreign minister is treading a challenging route since Iran does not want be perceived to be acting from a position of weakness, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged more resilient in military terms and mentally from the Israeli-US attack on its nuclear sites in June.

He was addressing at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to process nuclear material on home soil that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the deadlock in the earlier negotiations.

Prior Talks Unexpectedly Concluded

The earlier sessions of talks between the United States and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile end on 12 June when the Israeli government, with US support, targeted Iran's enrichment centers in a 12-day war that concluded with the American leader declaring the locations had been eliminated. Subsequently, EU nations exercised their authority to reimpose international penalties, but Iran insists they have not had a substantial consequence.

Ideal Resolution Proposed

Iranian officials claimed they felt they had attained a "perfect agreement" to the nuclear fuel concern in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an local partnership with US participation could enrich uranium. Each party would have been able to assert triumph since local refinement would have persisted and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

The sites and machinery, if destroyed, will be reconstructed; what is crucial is the will of the Iranian people and then the national cohesion that they targeted, but did not succeed to destroy. The Iranian people have developed more powerful, more cohesive, and more supportive of the administration and the country in the wake of this invasion."
